North Wall Quay, from Thursday 1 December to Friday 16 December, weekdays 10:00–16:00*.
Based on interviews with some 50 residents of Sheriff Street by Maria McGrane, this exhibition will include photographs, videos, and a free sweet shop.
This free exhibition took three years to complete and will evoke memories of kind, resilient people who cared for each other, inspired by Maria’s early years behind the counter in Mattie’s, her family’s corner shop, which doubled as the unofficial community centre for generations of Sheriffers, and was described as an “Aladdin’s cave” by writer Peter Sheridan.
A perfect winter warming activity in the lead up to Christmas.
*Note: There will be no exhibition on Friday 9 and Monday 12 December
